Presentation
Welcome at the Circular Economy – Interdisciplinary Conference!
Circular Economy is a performative development model with both technical, organisational and social issues. This model represents a solution that works to preserve our planet, recently but definitively perceived as limited and very fragile. In a profound and sustainable way, it calls into question our relationship with natural resources as well as our mode of production/consumption, and proposes solutions to improve the resilience of territories and the well-being of their inhabitants.
Supported by the Association Interdisciplinaire Française pour la Recherche en Économie Circulaire (AIFREC) and the Circulades consortium of researchers, and with the backing of the Occitanie Region, the CEIC-2026 is positioned as the First International meeting of researchers in the humanities and social sciences, material sciences, technological sciences and environmental sciences focusing on the Circular Economy.
The aim of this scientific conference is to highlight the interdisciplinary nature of research on the offerings of economic players, consumer demand and behaviour, and the management and transformation of waste and resources. It is also an opportunity to present how research can conceptualise and model the circular economy to make it a real driver for change.
If your research addresses the following topics (and not only), you are welcome !
- Circular product and system design
- Circular economy and policy integration
- Resource recovery, remanufacturing, and waste valorization
- Modelling and digital tools for circular transitions
- Social equity and behavioral aspects in circular systems
- Circular business models and financing
- Impacts, environmental issues, sustainability, key indicators
- Transitions to circular economy
The conference organization includes plenary sessions and thematic sessions.
With the aim of encouraging as much dialogue as possible between researchers in different domains, we don’t propose predefined session topics. Instead, the scientific committee will organize the accepted abstracts in parallel sessions embracing as many different perspectives as possible.”
